KVK is having more demonstration units to demonstrate the various agricultural techniques, with economic views and benefits. KVK’s demonstration farms not only have crops, but may also have various types of livestock, compost, manures, forest seedlings, fruit saplings etc., Our demonstration farms are not only used for demonstration, but are also used for teaching and production purpose. Our model farms are providing education to urbanized populations and encouraging improved standards for agricultural workers.

Vermicomposting production unit

Vermicomposting is the process of turning organic debris into worm castings. The worm castings are very important to the fertility of the soil. The castings contain high amounts of nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium.


Slatted floor goat rearing

Goat is known as ‘Poor man’s cow’ in India and is a very important component in dry land farming system. Marginal or undulating lands unsuitable for other types of animals like cow or buffalo, goat is the best alternative.

Horticulture and Forestry nursery

Nursery is a place where planting material, such as seedlings, saplings, cuttings, etc., are raised, propagated and multiplied under favourable conditions for transplanting in prepared beds.

Mushroom Production Unit

A mushroom is described as the “fruiting body of a fungus that typically appears above the ground and contains spores”. It is this fleshy bracket that is commonly eaten.

Vegetable special production unit

Micro nutrients play a major role in growth and production of vegetable crops. It is a micro nutrient formulation has found to be unique with six micronutrients namely zinc, boron, manganese, iron, molybdenum and copper

Azolla production unit

Azolla is a water based crop; one should ensure at least 5 inches of water in pond for proper growth. Azolla grows well where the ideal temperature range is 20-35°C. It requires a water pH value of 5 to 7 and relative humidity of 80-90%. Azolla will be ready for harvest by 2-3 weeks.

Poultry rearing

Poultry production involves several stages before poultry products reach consumers, including the rearing of these birds from hatch to peak performance and the subsequent harvesting and processing of broilers and eggs.

Japanese quail rearing unit

Quails can be reared either in cages or on floors or a combination of both. Thus, the options for rearing systems are Brooding (0-3 weeks), rearing (4-8 weeks) and laying (8 weeks onwards) in deep litter

Oil Extraction Demo cum production unit

Wood press oil is extracted using a wood pestle that presses the seeds and crushes them for extracting the oil. The key thing to understand about the process of wood pressing is that it makes use of a wooden pestle and wooden collector to press and collect the oil.
